Fruit Pizzas can be made any way you like them to make them your own, with various fruit options, or even dough options. But to make things perfect for Memorial Day or Fourth of July, I wanted a red, white, and blue dessert pizza. So delicious, so simple, and a crowd pleaser!
How to make this Patriotic Fruit Dessert?
This patriotic fruit pizza is really easy to make. I like to start with a store-bought sugar cookie dough for the crust, but you’re welcome to use your favorite homemade sugar cookie recipe for the dough too. First, you’ll spread the cookie dough out to make one big giant cookie. You can cook it on a pizza pan or cookie sheet. Spread it out to be about 1/2 thick. Bake it in the oven until the cookie is cooked throughout the middle.
Allow the cookie to cool and then cover in a generous amount of whipped topping. Using whatever design you would like, arrange your fruit on top of the whipped topping. You can arrange it in a circular pattern as I did, use stripes, or even arranged it like an American flag.
Red, White, and Blue Dessert Tips
- Be sure to have enough fresh fruit to replace any that are soggy or not ripe
- Use any combination of fruit YOU choose. This patriotic fruit pizza was done as an easy red, white and blue dessert idea but it can be changed up
- A pizza cutter is perfect for slicing up your fruit pizza
- Be sure to rinse and completely dry your fresh fruit. Drying your fruit helps your fruit sit better on the whipped topping
This patriotic fruit pizza is the perfect holiday dessert. It’s fun, festive, and so simple that the whole family can pitch in. It’s a light and refreshing end to any summer picnic or holiday meal!
