A few months ago I decided that I really wanted to change out the artwork above the children’s bookshelves without spending much money. Wrapping paper art solved my problem. It’s a simple way to decorate and inexpensive. Framed wrapping paper art is a great solution if you want to customize the look of a space and also perfect for spaces you may want to change out seasonally. It’s a super simple DIY wall decor idea.
If you follow me on Instagram you will see how simple this project is from start to finish. I decorated an area for homeschooling and now I change out the bookshelves seasonally and theme the shelves. That’s when the idea came to me, to just pick up wrapping paper. But this idea can be used for many areas in your home. Even if you want to put a few frames on a dresser or side table and can tailor the art colors to your decor with the perfect wrapping paper.

Materials
There is so much flexibility when choosing your materials. You can pick up wrapping paper off season at many retailers for a discounted price. You can find picture frames as seond hand stores or use frames you have at home. Below you can find the frames I’ve used around my home.
Tips for Framed Wrapping Paper
- Choose high quality paper that’s thicker if you want your wrapping paper art to be a more permanent wall decor. I didn’t necessarily care about the quality in my framed wrapping paper wall decor since I change it out frequently.
- Framed wrapping paper is a great alternative if you just haven’t found the right wall decor for a space yet. It’s also great for themed children’s bedrooms or a nursery. Just think of all the phases children go through and how easy it would be to use their favorite character wrapping paper for an easy room update!
- Use the insert in the frame or the mat to cut the size wrapping paper you need for your frame.
